A Word From Ronald Willis

Traditionally, when someone considers buying a home, they often start by speaking with a real estate agent they’ve just met. This agent might ask a series of personal, sometimes unnecessary, questions. The prospective buyer is then advised to find a lender and get pre-qualified for a home loan.

But finding the right lender can be challenging, and even if the purchaser does everything right, some buyers might still face rejection during the underwriting process—not because of anything they did wrong, but simply because the lender doesn't see enough profit in the transaction. After completing a daunting list of tasks to meet the requirements only to be rejected, the buyer may end the process or continue to search for a home outside of their buying parameters because it fits the needs of the real estate agent and lender rather than the purchaser.

This experience can leave many prospective homebuyers, especially first-time buyers, feeling overwhelmed and disheartened. The path to homeownership often seems filled with people who don’t have the the homebuyer's best interests at heart.
