This page is less about a resume and more about the long thread of places, people, and work that have shaped how I see the world.
Over the years, I’ve been involved in a range of professional, civic, and faith-based groups, largely centered around real estate, construction, investment, and community leadership. These weren’t boxes to check, but rooms I spent real time in.
On the investment and property side, I’ve been an active member of groups like the TriState Investors Network and the Ohio River Investment Club, learning alongside owners and operators who take a long view of capital and stewardship. I’ve also spent many years connected to industry associations such as the Property Owners and Managers Association, the Self Storage Association, and the North American Fence Contractors Association. My involvement ranged from participant to leadership, including serving as President and Vice President of the North American Fence Contractors Association during different seasons.
Outside of business, community and service have always mattered to me. Earlier in life, I served on conference-level committees within the United Methodist Church, including work focused on racial healing and Native American ministries. Long before that, I was involved locally with Optimist International in Boonville, Indiana. Those experiences shaped how I think about responsibility, listening, and showing up where the work is uncomfortable but necessary.
Along the way, I pursued formal training when it made sense. That includes industry certifications in self-storage operations, valuation, acquisitions, and construction trades, as well as professional education through organizations like Purdue University and the National Association of Realtors. Some of these credentials opened doors. Others simply sharpened how I think and work.
My academic path reflects a similar mix. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education from Ball State University, where I also spent time as a varsity swimmer. Later, I completed a Master of Divinity at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, serving in student leadership and governance roles along the way. That season of study continues to influence how I think about ethics, power, and the human side of institutions.
Taken together, this isn’t about accumulation. It’s about continuity. Each group, course, and role added a layer. This page is simply a snapshot of the rooms I’ve been in and the work I tried to do while I was there.
